With several netball fixtures in the calendar this March we've created a round up of news including some match reports from the players.
The Year 10 team played an excellent game recently against PACA, dominant throughout and eventually winning 11-2. A lovely game with a great atmosphere and sporting spirit!
Daria's match report:
Varndean won 11:2. The whole team did an amazing job, staying positive throughout the match.
What went well: Great shooting from our shooters, Winnie and Rita.
Good passing, calling for the ball and great snatches on the court.
Everyone tried their hardest, even though it was some people's first match.
To work on: take our time while passing the ball, making sure that the person is open before we pass.
We can work on the defence in the opposite d, making sure that we challenge the shooter while keeping the 1 meter distance.
On Tuesday 14th March the Year 10 team were in action again in a tournament at Hove Park School. Please see Daria's match report:
We came 4th out of 6 teams, scoring a great amount of shots.
We had a team change, this did not hinder us and all of the year 9s were really good.
In my opinion Rudi and Jodie were the star players, having great interceptions.
WWW: amazing interceptions, defence was strong. Everyone was happy and motivated, no one got hurt and there were great tactics and lovely movement (especially from Annabel)
EBI: Make sure we take our time during passes, as many passes went to the other team. Also making sure that we get the rebound when shooting, keeping the ball on court. Work on footwork, and keeping 1 metre when defending.
Overall: Amazing work, I am really proud of our team!
The Year 11 Netball team played very well winning 8-4 against PACA. The game was energetic, but it was great to play against a team at a similar level. Player of the match was Tally W.
Well done to all players!
